To
ensure quality, project metrics are collected systematically
at various stages of the project implementation. The data
is analyzed using various Statistical Quality Control tools
like control charts to draw inferences at the project and
organizational levels. The results are used to improve the
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) . Besides getting a
simple baseline of data, these metrics should reinforce the
accountability for both Project and Process leaders. Regarding
number 5, it is also important that missed milestones be escalated,
in case there is an impact on other work. Regarding numbers
2 and 3, the goal is to eventually have the number started
equal the number completed. To ensure that quality is being
maintained, initially there is a three-tier system of quality
control in place. The MT types the file and leaves any doubts/blanks
for editors perusal. Then the document is proofread
for any English or typographical errors. This ensures that
the final product caters to the clients demands and
needs without leaving room for errors.
